[Reported by Chen Mingde] Ming Ming Aluminum is a leading company in Taiwan specializing in automatic tilting gravity casting. In addition to its commitment to professional development, the company also gives back to the local community and is actively involved in public welfare. It has donated fire trucks before. After learning that the Taichung City Fire Department needed to replace its radio equipment, the company immediately spent NT$4 million to purchase 100 sets of digital-analog dual-mode handheld radios and 36 sets of fixed radios. A donation ceremony was held at the Fire Department on the 6th, with General Manager Chien Ming-yen making the donation on behalf of the company. Fire Chief Tseng Chin-tsai accepted the donation on behalf of the company and presented a certificate of appreciation.
The fire department stated that the fire situation at the scene of a fire is constantly changing, and frontline firefighters, the command center, and their teammates must communicate the real-time situation via radio to respond to various emergencies. The fire department has more than 1,500 field rescue personnel, and the radios used by these personnel are being actively upgraded from old analog radio systems to digital radio systems to improve the quality of rescue communications.
General Manager Chien stated that the spirit of firefighters who brave water and fire to protect the safety of citizens is admirable. This donation of wireless equipment will provide firefighters with better communication equipment at the fire scene, allowing them to transmit fire-related information even while conducting rescue operations, thus reducing the occurrence of accidents.
Director Zeng pointed out that government resources are limited, but the power of the people is boundless. Every piece of valuable equipment donated by the public will be used properly. At fire scene rescue operations, firefighters enter the fire wearing protective suits and carrying air tanks, their entire gear weighing over 20 kilograms. Furthermore, the situation inside a fire is constantly changing, requiring uninterrupted radio communication so that firefighters can accurately and quickly report the situation and respond to any emergencies. We thank Ming Ming Aluminum Industry for their selfless contribution; the donated radios will be distributed to various field units to effectively ensure the safety of firefighters during rescue operations.
